About Me

Growing up on a farm has embedded a natural desire for me to be outdoors. I have always been active and since my first swimming lesson at the age of five, I have continued to pursue a love for most sporting and outdoor activities.

Since qualifying as a teacher in 1995, I have motivated and inspired children and adults alike, passing on my creativity and my passion to achieve the best I can. I went on to become a headteacher and it was during this time I recognised the importance of exercise in order to maintain a good work/life balance. This led me to running my first marathon across the Polar Ice Cap in Greenland. Coming 2nd, I discovered I had a talent for running. Having totally 'caught the bug', I followed this up by successfully completing the 49 mile classic Swiss Alpine Ultra Marathon and have not stopped since. I have run more than 35 marathons, including ultra marathons, all over the world.

In 2011, I combined my teaching skills and passion for fitness to become qualified in Personal Training, Many of my clients positively comment on the fact I used to teach children – fun, challenging and creatively themed sessions keep them young in body and mind.

I have now discovered the pleasures of canicross and do most of my running with Lyra, my energetic, fun loving Hungarian Vizsla. I am a DogFit Certified Canicross Trainer and enjoy nothing better than exploring new trails with my four legged running buddy. Much to the delight of my clients, Lyra oftens joins our outdoor sessions and helps keep moral high with a waggy tail.
